Enjoying Noche De San Juan in Puerto Rico
St. John's Night, popularly known as Noche de San Juan, is an important festivity in Puerto Rico that happens at night every 23rd of June. People get together by the shores throughout the island to commemorate the nativity Saint John the Baptist.
The nightfall's celebrations start with get-togethers by the local beaches in which people take pleasure in music, dancing and food. When midnight strikes, people assembled by the beach would walk backwards to the waters and then tumble backwards to take a plunge. They do it thrice because their customs say that they would have 'good chance' throughout the year. The Puerto Rican flag surely rejoices as well over this upbeat commemoration.
The bigger assemblies would happen by the shores whole over San Juan, but celebrations can be seen happening at nearly whole beaches whole over the island, some in swimming pools even.
For people who are planning to join the yearly practice, they should make certain that they go to their selected beach ahead of time since looking for a parking area and place by the shore could be hard because of the huge number of people that get together.
Within the neighbourhood of San Juan, people can choose to go to beaches on Isla Verde, Carolina, Condado, Escambron and Ocean Park. For those who are not in San Juan, they could ask where they stay for the closest beach party because there is by all odds one close by. Just remember to be there ahead of time, get ready to be drenched and enjoy.
